Our Approach to Care

about us

At Serenoa Co., our concierge experience begins with an in-home care consultation to assess the individual’s physical and cognitive abilities, as well as their values and desires in this season of life. Based on this assessment, we create a personalized care plan that details next steps and recommendations for home safety, community resources, and wellness plans.

Throughout your experience, we communicate openly with each client and their families to ensure that needs are being met and that everyone involved feels comfortable and confident with the level of care provided. When decisions need to be made regarding an individual’s medical care, we will keep the family informed with options and assist with making seamless transitions as the necessary level of care increases.

Anne has specialized in working with dementia clients individually since 2012. Using the Montessori method, she assesses each client’s needs, abilities and interests, and then builds an activities program that will allow them to use the problem solving part of their brain. Anne goes through each activity together with her clients, one at a time, so their sessions also offer socialization and companionship. She has observed her clients feeling joy, success and confidence as they realize they can complete the activities without her assistance. At any time, she can adjust their individualized plan as needed. She really enjoys spending time with her clients and seeing how much they love the games.

Kassie & Rover

Honorary Serenoa Co. Team Members

When working with the Serenoa Co. team, you may meet a few of our furry friends, Kassie and Rover! Kassie often accompanies our staff members to companionship visits and regular check-ins with our senior clients, while Rover holds down the fort at our primary office.

Serenoa Co. is inspired by our South Carolinian heritage and coastal surroundings. The name ‘Serenoa’ is derived from the scientific name of a well-known marker of the South Carolinian coastal landscape, the palmetto. The palmetto is known for being a long-lived, resilient botanical species, flourishing in coastal environments. Much like the palmetto grows in a healthy and vigorous way as a result of its surroundings, we want to create a similar experience for each of our clients. As individuals navigate through the transitional seasons of life, we want them to feel empowered and at peace, continually thriving under our care and support.
